We are hosting a Secondary Maths Conference on Wednesday 29th June, showcasing the work of NW1 Maths Hub and introducing new schools to our Teaching for Mastery programmes. The theme of this conference is “Improving Student Engagement”.
This event will operate as a showcase of the fantastic work done by NW1 Maths Hub across our boroughs of Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale and Stockport.
The online conference centring around the theme of “Improving Student Engagement” will include talks and interactive workshops from local school leaders and members of our LLME (Local Leaders in Maths Education) community on:
- The impact for schools of working with NW1 Maths Hub
- Using manipulatives in a mastery classroom, and the benefits of engaging with the Teaching for Mastery programme
- A coherent journey for staff, students and school leaders from year 7 – 11
- Supporting transition from primary to secondary school through our year 5 – 8 continuity Work Group
The conference is free to attend from all staff within our borough areas, and we are particularly keen to welcome staff from schools who haven’t engaged with NW1 Maths Hub at all yet, or have attended some sessions with us but have no began their Teaching for Mastery Journey.
