Primary Headteacher Maths Conference

Equity For All

We are inviting headteachers from all Primary schools within our 5 LA boroughs (Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale and Stockport) to attend a free online maths conference on Thursday 25th April 2024. The title and theme of the conference this year is “Equity For All”.

Equity is high on the agenda for all leaders – but what does “Equity For All” mean in maths and how can you as leaders help to further promote this? Maths has an incredibly high index link to our future potential; both in the workplace and in terms of life chances. As leaders, what systems and strategies do you need to consider in order for every pupil to achieve to their highest potential in the mathematics classroom?

During this conference we will be considering these points through the lens of Headteachers and with the following foci: how fluency can be a vehicle to help to close the attainment gap, key considerations in maths for pupils with SEND and the importance of whole-school teacher practice development.
