Wednesday 4th November 3.45-5pm via Zoom – strategies to provide effective distance learning
Are you a secondary maths teacher at a school in Bury? Would you like the opportunity to discuss and work collaboratively with other maths teachers in Bury?
Join NW1 Maths Hub and our host school, The Derby High, for the first meeting this academic year of the Bury Maths Cluster.
The focus of the first meeting will be on effective distance learning and will provide opportunities to share and discuss the strategies that have worked well. We will look at what colleagues are currently doing in terms of distance learning and how NW1 Maths Hub could support you further.
All secondary maths teachers across Bury are very welcome to attend. Multiple colleagues from different schools are welcome, not just Heads of Departments.
- Introduction from Simon Mazumder, NW1 Maths Hub Lead, including one/two maths problems (one will be SATS based)
- LLMEs from NW1 Maths Hub to share and discuss strategies for effective distance learning. (e.g. technology used, type of work set etc)
- Breakout room sessions to facilitate discussion and share experiences among colleagues about strategies for delivering effective distance teaching and learning
- Establishing a resource sharing network for all teachers in the Bury Cluster using Basecamp
