We are inviting headteachers from all Primary schools within our 5 LA boroughs (Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale and Stockport) to attend a free online maths conference on 11th May 2021.
The aim of the conference is to support you in your planning as we move forward from the pandemic, and to demonstrate how your school can seize the opportunity to become even stronger than before.

Dr Debbie Morgan, Director for Primary Mathematics (NCETM)
Debbie holds a national role as Director of Primary Mathematics at the National Centre for Excellence in Teaching Mathematics. She has previous experience as a Primary teacher, Headteacher, Mathematics Advisor and Senior University Lecturer in Mathematics Education. Her current responsibilities include providing advice and expertise to the Department for Education regarding the development and implementation of mathematics policy across England. She has been the mathematics consultant on the BAFTA award winning BBC programme ‘Numberblocks’ since its creation and regularly receives requests to speak at conferences across the country. In 2020 Debbie was awarded a CBE for services to education in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
Jenny McGarry, Headteacher, St Mary’s CofE, Manchester
Jenny is the headteacher of St. Mary’s CE Primary School, a Teaching School and National Support school in Moss Side, Manchester. She has been in educational senior leadership for over 18 years in inner city Manchester and is a National Leader of Education. She is a member of the NW1 Maths Hub Strategic Board and a Headteacher Advocate. Jenny is also a key member of the Teach Manchester Strategic Group, and the Core Maths Group.
Sarah Isberg, Deputy CEO Watergrove Trust & Executive Head of Kentmere Academy, Rochdale
Sarah has been the Headteacher of Kentmere Academy and Nursery since 2013 is also the Deputy CEO at the Watergrove Trust. She has significant experience of leading state and independent, Primary and Secondary schools. She has been a registered ISI Inspector and holds the National Professional Qualification for Headship and Executive Leadership (NPQH & NPQEL). Sarah is also a member of the NW1 Maths Hub Strategic Board and a Headteacher Advocate.
Hannah Stoten, Ofsted HMI
Hannah is the national subject lead for early mathematics. She is a qualified teacher who has held leadership, governance and consulting positions in a range of primary schools and early years settings. She has expertise in the areas of early childhood development, mathematics education, curriculum design and implementation.
