The primary teaching for mastery strategic journey comprises of four stages starting with mastery readiness.
Mastery Readiness Work Groups are led by Mastery Readiness Leads and this programme is for schools who have a commitment to developing a teaching for mastery approach long term, but who may need additional support for improving mathematics teaching, learning and leadership.
Two teachers from each participating school join a Work Group consisting of up to seven local primary. They work closely together to develop subject and pedagogical knowledge, as well as supporting teaching, learning and leadership of mathematics across the school by looking at the Five Big Ideas of Mastery Readiness.
There is no charge for participation in the programme and schools receive some funding as a contribution to cover costs. They are also eligible to claim financial help towards the cost of buying maths textbooks.
We are now recruiting schools across Manchester, Stockport, Bury, Oldham and Rochdale to join the Mastery Readiness programme for 2020-2021. To find out more please click here
